Sydney Marathon meets Sydney’s most colourful precinct.
Every August, thousands of runners make their way through the heart of Sydney, with Oxford Street and Taylor Square right in the middle of the action. Come cheer them on, soak up the atmosphere and make a day of it across the Rainbow Precinct. The fun starts around 7am and lasts all day as the marathon passes through TWICE so plenty of excuses to grab a viewing area and make a day of it!
Oxford Street and Taylor Square are at the heart of the action, with the Rainbow Precinct coming alive as the runners make their way through. Find your spot along the route, cheer on the crowds, soak up the atmosphere and explore everything happening around the precinct. With cafés, restaurants, bars and businesses open throughout the day, there’s plenty of places to stop, refuel and settle in for the marathon — and plenty of reasons to stay long after the runners have passed.
